Terms of Service

Last updated: 17 May 2026

1. Who we are

SquareLease (squarelease.com.au) is an online information platform operated by MCPDigital ABN 38 429 572 069. We index official Australian tenancy legislation, tribunal decisions, and government guidance and make it searchable. We are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice.

2. Not legal advice

Everything provided through SquareLease — including search results, guides, calculators, case summaries, letter templates, and AI-generated answers — is general information only. It is not legal advice and must not be relied upon as such.

Your specific circumstances can significantly change your legal position. Before taking any action on the basis of information found on SquareLease, verify it with the relevant state tenancy authority, a community legal centre, or a qualified solicitor.

3. Acceptable use

You may use SquareLease for lawful personal, professional, or research purposes. You must not:

  • Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically copy content from the platform without written permission
  • Attempt to circumvent access controls, rate limits, or subscription enforcement
  • Use the platform to harass, intimidate, or harm any other person
  • Submit false information when creating an account or contacting us
  • Use automated tools to submit queries to the AI advisor at a volume that degrades service for other users
  • Resell or sublicense access to the platform without written permission

4. Free and paid features

A free account gives you unlimited search, access to all calculators and guides, 5 saved items, and 2 AI questions per day. Paid plans (Day Pass, Premium, Business) unlock additional AI questions, document upload, law change alerts, team features, and other capabilities as described on the pricing page.

We reserve the right to change plan features and pricing. Material changes to paid plans will be communicated by email at least 30 days in advance.

5. Subscriptions and billing

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance via Stripe
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard — your access continues until the end of the current billing period
  • Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods, except where required by Australian Consumer Law
  • If a payment fails, we will attempt to retry for 7 days before suspending your subscription
  • The Day Pass is a one-off payment giving 24 hours of premium access — it is non-refundable once activated

6. AI advisor

The AI advisor is powered by a frontier language model. Its answers are generated automatically and may contain errors. You must not treat AI-generated answers as legal advice. Always verify AI answers against the cited legislation or with a qualified professional.

We apply PII scrubbing before your messages are sent to the model provider. Do not include sensitive personal information (tax file numbers, bank details, medical information) in your queries — our scrubbing removes common patterns but you should not rely on it as a complete safeguard.

7. Accuracy and currency of information

Australian tenancy law changes frequently — sometimes with short notice. We work to keep our content current and update it when we become aware of law changes, but we cannot guarantee that all information is accurate or up to date at the time you access it. We are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on information that has since been superseded by legislative change.

8. Intellectual property

The SquareLease platform, its design, and original content (including our guides, editorial text, and templates) are owned by MCPDigital. Government source documents (legislation, tribunal decisions) remain the property of the relevant government and are reproduced for informational purposes. You may download and print content for your own personal or professional use but may not reproduce it commercially without written permission.

9. Account termination

You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including for abuse of the AI advisor, attempted scraping, or providing false information. In serious cases, we may terminate without prior notice. If your account is terminated for a reason other than your own breach, we will refund any unused subscription days on a pro-rata basis.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, MCPDigital is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, information provided through SquareLease — including but not limited to loss arising from incorrect, outdated, or AI-generated information. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your subscription in the 12 months prior to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date, and registered users will be notified by email at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from your use of the platform are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
